Just before sunset, chairs begin to appear in the courtyard. Someone checks the harmonium, another tunes a string, and tea moves from hand to hand.
The gathering has no stage and no printed programme. Older musicians introduce a phrase; younger players answer it in their own way. Tradition survives here because it is allowed to change.
